With olympic buzz still going strong, I just I had to round up my favorite gold wedding pieces. From the stunning gown (seriously, I’m drooling over it) to the to-pretty-to-eat cake, this wedding inspiration screams glam.

Over the past 9 months, I’ve been seeing a lot of variations on the basic bun. From braids, twists and knots, people are getting very creative out there. I’m not sure if it’s the nostalalgia of ballet classes from years ago or what… but one thing’s for sure, the bun is back- bigger and higher than ever.
Now, you might be thinking, how in the heck do those girls get their buns so perfect? Well, it’s easy and you can do it too, I promise! Some of you may have heard of “the sock bun approach”.{Cutting the end off a sock and tucking your pony tail into it as you roll it down to your head.} Easy enough, right? Well, it just got easier!! Check out the latest from the Wedding Chicks.

It comes with a step-by-step illustration, a “sock” and cute hair ties to boot!

It’s official. I’m addicted to the olympics. I have been up way past my bed time every night this week but I just can’t turn away from the TV.

The Olympic games are finally here. I’m so anxious and excited for tonight that I feel like a kid on Christmas morning. Even better… I found this infographic and just had to share it with you.
It’s crazy to think that London has now hosted the Olympics three times! See how the games have (drastically) changed from 1908 to present day.

Yep, you read it right. There is such a thing as a healthy cookie. Gluten-free, egg-free and sugar-free (besides the chocolate chunks). And guess what? They actually taste super yummy.
recipe via |
:: what you’ll need ::
bananas (3 ripes ones)
natural peanut butter or almond butter (1/2 cup)
dark chocolate chunks or chips (1/2 cup to 1 cup)
rolled oats (2 cups)
coconut, shredded (to taste)
vanilla extract (1 tsp)
cinnamon (1/4 tsp)
salt (pinch)
baking powder (1 tsp)
oil (1/4 cup)
:: how to ::
First, heat the oven to 350. Okay, now, in a large bowl, mash up the bananas, pb, oil and vanilla. In another bowl, mix all of the dry ingredients together. Add the dry mix to the banana and pb bowl and mix together until combined. Now before you move on, please try the “dough”. It’s safe to eat because there aren’t any raw eggs so enjoy and maybe even set some aside. From there, drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a non-stick baking pan. Slide them in the oven and bake for about 12-15 mins.
** warning, they aren’t going to be the perfect round cookie that you might be used to. They almost look like no-bake cookies but don’t let their size or shape fool you. These puppies are amazing and, since they’re healthy, why not eat a couple?
it’s been a hard few days, well, even months in colorado. Between the horrible fires and the unimaginable and tragic theatre shooting, we all need to show a little love. I am so thankful that I didn’t personally know anyone in the shooting but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t affected me or our city. It’s been a somber few days around here and I want to make sure we acknowledge not only the victims, both fallen and injured, but the many heros of that night so that we can, if at possible, find some happiness and see the good that does exist in people. Take a minute. Hug a friend. Call your parents. Say I love you. Enjoy every day.

Let’s talk wedding colors…
What a week. I’m not exactly sure how it’s Friday. I was moving too fast to even realize the days were passing by. The craziness isn’t over yet but at least there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Luckily, when you love what you do, the craziness is all part of the fun.
